Badminton A game of pleasure ( Facts, Rules and trick )


Badminton is a games in which we need accuracy, speed , timing and many more things but before playing this game everyone should know the basic rules of this game, It will help you in advancing your game. There are several rules which everyone doesn't know, these rules are very important and necessary for the beginner and pro players. Not knowing these rules may leads to unfair advantage on you by opponent.

There are three types of badminton game such as "Single", "Doubles" and "Mixed". That means for both men and women there are five types of badminton game.
  • Men Single
  • Women Single
  • Men Double
  • Women Double
  • Mixed ( One man and one woman )

Court ( Height, Width and Net Height and width )

Court Dimension: 44ft x 22ft (double) / 44ft x 17ft (single)
Net Height: 5ft 1in on the sides / 5ft on the center of court

Sets :

This game consist of best of 3 games. That player is declared who wins the more sets or who wins two sets.

 Service :  

Rules for taking service :
  • Service should be long enough to cross the line nearer to the net.
  • It must be taken diagonally.
  • If the point is even the player who is serving has to take service from right of the court, and for odd points from the left of the service court.

Service for singles/Doubles :


Toss

A toss shall be conducted before starting the game. Winner of the toss will gain the advantage to determine whether He/She will start the game or receive the service.

Scoring :

Game starts with "Love all" which means 0-0 points of each player. That player is said to score a point who wins the rally and He/She may take service from the left/right of the service court as told above.
A player/team wins the rally if the following happens :
  • If opponent touches the shuttle with the body/hand before falling of the shuttle to the ground.
  • If the shuttle is in the Air and opponent player touches the net with Body or with the Racket
  • If both the player hits the shuttle simultaneously. ( Doubles )
  • If the player's Body or Racket crosses the net.
  • If player hits the Shuttle more than single times.
